THREADS OF LOVE AND LOSS
A debut women’s fiction trilogy about a love that crosses cultures and races, and burns bright until grief tears it apart. Set in Toronto, this is Maya and Abel’s story. They are shaped by two different worlds but what pulls them together is harder to walk away from than either of them expected. A story of immigrant identity, religions, loss, and figuring out what love means when what you built your life on seems to collapse.
Abel and Maya is an intimate, emotionally raw story about first love, devastating loss, and the quiet strength it takes to begin again even when everything you believed in has fallen apart.

VERONIKA BARANY
Veronika Barany writes women’s fiction about the things that shape us — loss, identity, love that doesn’t rescue but transforms. Her writing is deeply influenced by the immigrant experience, intergenerational pain, and the quiet work of rebuilding a life from the inside out.
She spent her teenage years in Canada — a country that became a second home and gave her a firsthand understanding of what it means to start over somewhere new. The friendships she built and the world she navigated there found their way into the trilogy.
Her characters are drawn from the people who shaped her life. The series is written in memory of her mother.
She now lives in Hungary with her husband, happily empty-nesting.
Threads of Love and Loss is her debut trilogy.
